Did You Know the Average Cost of a 60 Minute Sewing Class is $49 an Hour?
I'm Guessing You Are Worth More Than You Think You Are?
Many woman under value themselves and think they can only charge $10 to $15 an hour as a sewing teacher, but it's not true.
I charge at least $25 an hour per young student and I know you can too, as long as you create an experience they are willing to pay for (which I can help you with).
But, before we get to that, take a look at this statistic, maybe it will change your mind.

Before you start saying "There is no way people in my area will pay that", you may want to do some research and build your confidence.
You can look up what others charge in your area (or see if you have any competition) at the Take Lessons site where these stats came from.
But don't go there just yet...keep reading so we can look at some more numbers.
Plus learn more about how I can help you plan, set up, and market your classes and get your first paying students!

How Much Do You Want to Make?
What You Make Each Month Depends on How Many Students You Teach...The More The Better!
The graph below shows you what is possible if you charge $100 (on average) per student a month. Depending on the age and projects being taught some classes will cost $125 to $150 while some maybe a little less at $50 to $75.
If you charge more, then of course you can make more. If you charge less, then you will need to take on more students. How many students you want and what you charge is ultimately up to you.
But...I can give you some recommendations from my experience as a sewing teacher both online and in-person since 2009.

So basically it goes like this....
Want to see more numbers?
I've figure out exactly how many students you need per age group, how long their class would be, and how much you would charge. And It's all in my training!
- 10 students = $1000 a month
- 20 students = $2000 a month
- 30 students = $3000 a month
- 40 students = $4000 a month
- 50 students = $5000 a month

10 Years Ago I Opened My First Sewing Studio in My Home to Teach Classes!
I'd Love to Share What I've Learned, So You Can Set Up Your Studio & Make Good Money Teach Sewing, Too!
I started teaching classes part-time in my home when my 2nd son was only 2 years old.
I remember those nights he would look over the baby gate and watch mommy teaching a group of girls or women how to sew. My classes were anywhere from 90 minutes to 3 hours long, but I always felt energized knowing I was teaching a skill that was not only fun, but also valuable. And the nice part about teaching sewing was I also got paid and without having to put a bunch of unpaid hours in. Now, I do have to say that I spent about 9 months struggling along with my marketing efforts and still only had 2 students. I loved those two students, and taught them every week for over a year, but I wanted to inspire more girls to sew. Then I figured out, almost over night, how to go from 2 to 10 students, and make 10 times the money I was bringing in before. If you would like to know what I did, I am happy to share my secrets with you! |

Now this doesn't mean you have to go rent a separate space. I'm not saying that at all! It's actually better to start off in your home and then expand into a space if needed.
So in this stage you'll learn about the decorative and practical stuff that is needed for a teaching your sewing classes in your home or a rented space.

And...Keep on Track With The "Day Dreams to Sewing Teacher in 90 Days" Challenge!
I've created weekly tasks to help you keep on track, so you can get your sewing teacher business up and running!
You know as well as I do, it's hard to get to everything we want to do in life. But, what if I told you I'm here to help you get this dream of yours together!
This is everything I did to set up my sewing studios in my home and a rented space...all outlined into a weekly plan.
You will have specific week-by-week tasks, so if you are a planner this is ideal for you! These will help you to accomplish getting your sewing studio together sooner, rather than later, so you can start teaching and making money quickly. Each week you'll get an email with a link to watch that weeks videos, which will be around 15 minutes total. |
These tasks can take 4 to 8 hours each week to complete, but if you are want to make money with your sewing teacher business, then you will take this serious.
This challenge will get you into the habit of spending time on your sewing teacher business, so you'll be ready for teaching 6+ hours a week when your ready to go. I created this challenge because there is a lot of information in the core 12-Week Start Up training. BUT...I didn't want you to be overwhelmed or lost and wondering what to do next. |
My hope is that if you follow these weekly challenges, you can set up your sewing studio and be ready for success quickly!
I've carefully reverse engineered the step I took to open both my sewing studios in my home and a rented space. It only took my 90 days or less each time, so I know these videos will help encourage you and keep you on track to open your studio with it's first students. This challenge is like having me for 3 months as your business coach and cheerleader. I'm happy to cheer you on! |
Want to Get More Students By Having Your Own Sewing Classes Website?
These Training Videos Will Save You Thousands of Dollars Because You Won't Need a Graphic Designer or Webmaster.
A website is a must have in this day and age. If you don't have a website for your sewing studio it's like not having a smart phone!
Reaching people online is just as important as reaching them offline. The two work together to create a strong marketing strategy.
You'll no longer need to fear the "techy" stuff like creating graphics and a website because I have you covered in this training!

Create a Simple WebsiteLearn how to make a simple website in one on my favorite website builders. It's the same one I use to create this website along with 9 other websites for my different courses and programs.
I love it because I'm a designer and it's very visual (I'm guessing you probably are too). They call it "a drag n drop" visual editor, which to me just means building a website is fun & easy! You'll learn how to make a simple 4 to 10 page site, perfect for showing everything you'll be doing at your sewing studio. |
The pages I'll include in this training are Home, About, Classes, Contact, Fashion Shows, Summer Camps, Sewing Parties, and Workshops, but you can add more or less if you want!
Think about what it would cost if you were to hire a webmaster or graphic designer.
I use to spend $600 a month paying a webmaster to work with me on my websites and he was only $15 a hour. After 6 months I fired him because he was just to much work to manage. Then I deleted the entire site he built so all that money went down the drain.
When I was looking for a graphic designer, the most affordable I could find was $30 an hour and I didn't even like her work, so I didn't hire her.
That is why I have created these training videos for you. So you don't have to spend all that money. Instead you can be in control of your business and branding, and create your graphics and website on your own.
These combined training includes over 6 hours of step-by-step tutorials (a $1000 value).

“I enjoy Katrina Marie’s Be a Sewing Teacher very much indeed! Not that I expected anything else.

Katrina Marie’s Be a Sewing Teacher Start Up covers aspects that traditional business courses might overlook. So it’s not only marketing and website building - although the way in which she ‘brainstorms’ welcoming remarks for your website makes me grab my notepad.
Wow! - Concept planning about the WHY of it all, is just as important. And all tailor made to sewing obviously. Although I personally think that the start up fits any creative studio with some of your own imagination.
In short: Katina Marie’s positive input is contagious. So it’s a two- thumbs-up for the Be Sewing Teacher 12-Week Start Up-course.”

Not Quite Sure? Here Are a Few Questions You May Be Asking Yourself!
There Are Always Questions With Any Investment You Decide to Make, So I've Tried to Answer Them Here!
Of course if you don't see the answer to the question you have, you can send an email to katrina@katrinamariestudios.com and I'd be happy to get back to you!
1. Why Do I Need This Program?
This program was designed to give you the all information you need to set up a sewing studio, plus the step-by-step weekly tasks to get it accomplished in 90 days.
2. Why Should I Learn From You?
Well, for centuries people have been learning from others that walked before them. My guess is I'm probably a few steps ahead of you and I may have some experience that you may not have, yet. So hopefully learning from me will make make opening your studio easier and quicker.
|
3. Can't I Learn Everything You Teach On My Own?
Sure! You can totally open a sewing studio by trial and error, but if you are looking for a plan of action to get you there quicker this program is for you!
4. What If I Really Don't Have The Money?
If you are pinching pennies right now this is probably not the right time. You will have other costs involved, so this needs to be something you can easily take on.
5. What Will It Cost To Get Set Up?
You can get a studio set up for as little or as much as you want. There are a few things that I think are super important though, such as: 1) working sewing machines for function 2) fresh paint and an inspiration wall for appeal 3) paid marketing for attracting students
|
6. What Do I Say to Someone Who Thinks This Training Is Too Expensive?
I'd say "Is it really too expensive if you can get one student for $495 just using the sewing courses provided?" In just 90 Days you could make back your full investment and be profiting after that month after month.
7. How Much Time Will This Course Take?
If you follow along with the 90 Day challenge assignments, this course is designed to take around 4 to 8 hours a week for 12 weeks. It's about the same as if you were teaching sewing classes, so in a way it's getting you ready for teaching classes.
8. What If I Don't Have Time?
I would not recommend trying to fit this in if you can't dedicate the time needed. Nobody wins if they are burnout and exhausted with too much on their plate.
|
9. Do I Really Need To Create A Website?
Yes! We live in a modern day and age where having a website is the norm for any successful business. To not have a website is like not having a smart phone!
10. Will This Help If I'm Already Teaching?
Yes! If you are a life long learner and looking for ways to make what you are doing more profitable, then I'm sure you will find ways to do just that!
11. How Much Can I Make Teaching Girls?
You will probably find that Girls ages 8 to 12 will produce 50% to 75% of your monthly income. How much you make will depend on how many students you can get. But, if you can get 10 students at $100 that is $1,000 a month, before expenses.
|
12. What If I Want To Teach Other Ages?
Great! I've got you covered there, too. You can easily teach more classes for girls, as well as, teens and adults with all my other sewing courses. For more details see all my Sewing curriculums.
"Even though I’m very confident in my skills, setting up a sewing space to teach and coming up with a curriculum was a whole new territory....in this course I've learned to tie it all together."

"I participated in the 12 week Be A Sewing Teacher Training and have learned lots of valuable information.
I’ve been sewing for a long time and wanted to share my skills with others through teaching sewing. Even though I’m very confident in my skills, setting up a sewing space to teach and coming up with a curriculum was a whole new territory. |
By participating in the course I’ve learned to tie it all together and set up the space that is inviting, fun and inspiring. The course also helped me to navigate through the process of setting up the business side of this adventure.
I have saved a lot of time by starting with curriculums that were already tested by hundreds of students in Katrina Marie’s studio.
The best part is that you get a lifelong access to the licenses and instructional videos. I would highly recommend this course."
