Hi, I'm Katrina Marie And I Have Been a Sewing Teacher Since 2010!

I'd Love to Share What I've Learned, So You Can Set Up Your Studio & Make Money Teaching Sewing, Too!

Picture
Since 2010, I have been teaching sewing classes in-person at my personal fashion design studios and also in my online classroom (using my sewing curriculums).

I'm excited to be making these available to other ladies who want to teach sewing.

As you can see I have put a lot of work into my sewing curriculums, not only coming up with age appropriate sewing projects, but also putting them on video, and then in an online school, so they can be accessed anywhere in the world.

It's exciting to know we have ladies that have gone through our trainings in Europe, India, and Africa, as well as Canada and the United States.

I really feel the best way to learn is visually, so that is why I went with video over doing a book with written instruction.

Combining my videos with a real life teacher makes them even better.

That is where you come in!

Using my curriculums will help you get your classes going faster and smoother because you don't have to think about what to teach and in what order.

No spending days looking for project to teach and figuring out how to package them into a package moms with buy!

You can focus your time teaching happy little students to sew.

I'm Sure You Have Questions, So Here Are Some Answers Below!

There Are Always Questions With Any Investment You Decide to Make, So I've Tried to Answer Them Here!

Of course if you don't see the answer to the question you have, you can send an email to katrina@katrinamariestudios.com and I'd be happy to get back to you!
1. Is There Somewhere I can Preview Your Lessons?
Yes! You can preview my free "Chic Hair Accessory" lesson from my Glamour Girls course. This is the same lesson I teach in my free "open studio" classes to girls ages 6 to 12. It's a great way to get them into my studio to look around, try a project, and be inspired by the other projects they can make on a sewing machine if they sign up for a paid course.
2. How Do I Teach Using Your Videos?
You stream the lesson from Katrina Marie Studios online school using a computer connected to a big screen (32" to 48")TV or monitor. Once you sign in you will see all your classes, then you just pick the course and lesson you will be teaching for that class. You can pause when needed according to the pace of your students.

3. Do I Have to Play Your Videos In My Classes?
No, you don't have to play my videos in class, but it is a nice way to teach because it "shows" students how to do a step in real-time, rather than just "telling" them. Also with video they see how fabric moves when being pinned or sewn. It's a superior learning method over patterns or written instruction. Of course students still need to get a "feel" for it all by doing it themselves, but why not give them a little head start.

4. What If I Have Streaming Problems?

Streaming problems are always a bummer and they can happen if you don't have a good internet connection. If you do not have a stable internet connection at this time, then you will probably want to wait to purchase until we have a downloadable version or "At a Glance" lesson plans available. If you don't want to wait you can always go through the program yourself and make all the sample, and then teach from memory.

5. Is There Any Way to Download The Videos?

Sorry, I do not have my videos downloadable at this time, but if at any time in the future the site has to come down you will be granted access to download the content within a 30 to 60 day time frame. I don't see that happening since I've been at this since 2010, but sometimes unforeseen things can happen. If you want a hard copy we may have them on thumb drives in the future, when it can be worked into our production schedule.

6. What If My Students Have Trouble Learning From Video?

Visual leaning is good for about 75% of students, but some students may prefer listening or just doing over watching. In that you can just go with the flow and alter your class to fit your students needs. Sometimes they just need some time to get use to your class flow and within a few weeks you may find they have adjusted. You also don't have to play the full video in class. You can play just part of it and then move on with helping students hands-on.

7. What If I Have Trouble Teaching From Video?

If you have trouble teaching from my videos, you don't have to use them. You can always watch them on your own and make the samples. Then just teach your class by telling the students each step. You can still teach the projects and use the lesson plans without the videos. We plan to update all the courses with an "At-a-Glance" lesson plans that can be printed, so that may be an option in the future.

8. Do You Have Any Printed Instructions?

I do not have any printed instructions right now, but might add an "At-a-Glance" lesson plan that can be printed in the future. If you MUST have printed materials to teach from, you may want to wait on purchasing until we have them ready. For now all we have is videos to stream from an internet connection, so that is all I am promising you at this time.

9. Do I Have To Follow Your Steps to a "T"?

It's best to follow the instructions if you are teaching from my videos, so you don't confuse your students watching. If you decide you want to use my curriculum as a loose guideline and want to make changes to the way a project is made or the design, then you are welcome to do so to fit your creative urges. On a side note: I'm also working on a program called Lights Camera Teach that will show you how to create your own online videos and courses, so you can be a power house producer just like me...lol! :)

10. Do I Have to Charge The Prices Listed?

No, you do  not need to charge the prices listed on this page. If you feel more comfortable getting paid less that is up to you. This is what I charge and recommend other charge too, so they can make "good" money as a sewing teacher. Just keep in mind you'll have business and advertising expenses, so you need to charge with those in mind. Paid advertising can cost anywhere from $50 to $200 a student, so you want to make sure that is covered.

11. What Happens If I Stop Making Payments?

Oh no! I truly hope this doesn't happen, because you will loose access to all of your sewing curriculum. Of course I prefer if you "Pay in Full" so this doesn't happen, but I have payment option available, so that you can also put money into advertising as you build your sewing studio. If you think that you can't make the payments it might be better to not buy right now.

12. Do You Have a Money Back Guarantee?

Yes! This program is risk free! I stand behind all my work and want you to be happy. So, I have a 30 day money back guarantee, so you can check it all out and make sure it's the right fit for you. BUT...please don't buy if you plan to ask for your money back. I'm looking for ladies who are serious about teaching sewing and want to teach using my sewing courses.

"Katrina is talented, fun, and unique!  She is very patient and calm in her presentation of how to sew very chic projects.

If you follow her step by step you may notice that she has simplified many of her designs for a beginner but her classes are for anyone that wants to learn how to sew different designs.

I have learned so much from her teaching style and presentation of the material that it really gave me the confidence I needed to  teach classes locally.
My classes averaged about 8-10 girls weekly, ages 8+. I received many compliments from parents on how much fun the kids had and how impressed they were with the final results.
