Step #2 - Plan The Projects You Will You Teach

Hi there. We are now on step number two. That is to plan out the projects that you're going to teach. So this is going to build on step number one. You first have to know who you're teaching. Once you know who you're teaching, now you can start thinking about the projects that they would enjoy making.

So if this whole idea overwhelms you a little bit, don't worry. I do have you covered. This is where I come in. I've been teaching sewing classes for over 10 years online and in person and sewing for over 35 years. I started my own business when I was 18 as a dress designer.

I love coming up with projects and teaching. So honestly you don't have to go anywhere else and look around unless you want to. If you want to see what different kinds of curriculum are out there, you can take a look around on Google.

But the main thing about planning out the projects is knowing how long you're teaching. So maybe you're only doing one off classes, so you want some kind of project that can be done in a three hour period or a six hour period, like a workshop. Those are great for adults.

Maybe you're looking for something that can be done weekly and you want a student to come back for say 8 weeks or 12 weeks. That's my favorite! In that case, maybe they're working on five different projects, but they do them over that span of 8 to 12 weeks depending on their age.

If they're a tween student, then maybe they're only making five projects, but it might take them six months because they're a little more involved.

This step is one of the most important steps because you want to make sure that you have age appropriate sewing projects for your students. If you choose something that's too complicated, then they're not going to be able to finish it in class and you're not going to have a happy student or happy mom.

So I'd like for you to put some thought into this step and return to step number one if you need to decide who you're teaching.

Then today, think about the different projects that you want to teach in your sewing classes. If you need ideas, go ahead and click on the button below and you can see the different sewing curriculums that I have available. All right, that's it for day two. Bye. Bye.
